FrogABCs 1.0

FrogABCs offers an engaging approach to teaching young children the English alphabet through interactive gameplay focused on helping a frog catch a fly. This application effectively instructs users in both uppercase and lowercase letters, utilizing vibrant graphics that are paced appropriately for children aged 3 to 6. A noteworthy feature includes video rewards that celebrate successful learning milestones, along with in-game progress reports designed to keep parents informed of their child's development.

This game is the first installment of a series of five educational tools developed over the past 15 years by researchers at San Diego State University, in collaboration with preschool and kindergarten educators. The objective of this initiative is to enhance kindergarten readiness by imparting essential pre-literacy and pre-math skills.

In addition to fostering letter recognition, FrogABCs provides separate gameplay experiences that focus on counting, phonemic awareness, sight word recognition, and rhyming. These components have undergone extensive testing involving over 3000 children in both home and classroom settings, ensuring their effectiveness. Future releases of the remaining games are currently in development for iOS platforms.
